We run The Bereavement Journey for anyone who has been bereaved at any time and in any way.
Who is The Bereavement Journey for?
It's for people who feel they may not have come to terms with their loss. The course is suitable for anyone with or without a Christian faith.
Attendance is not advisable for those who have been bereaved within the past three months.
What does The Bereavement Journey cover?
Overs 6 or 7 sessions, it covers:
- Attachment, separation and loss
- The impact and pain of bereavement
- Anger and guilt
- Coping with others’ reactions
- Adjusting to change
- Delayed and suppressed grief
- Moving forward healthily
Each evening begins with supper, then two films, each followed by an opportunity for discussion in a small group, with a break between.
Testimonies
- It was a safe place to journey with others who had understanding and empathy around loss and grief.
- Really helped me to face things and issues I was not facing.
Location

The Community Larder is run by FareShare, who save good food from going to waste by redistributing surplus food from some of the UK’s top food companies to 8,000+ charities and community groups.
The FareShare van brings a variety of food which is distributed for a cost of £5 for a family or £2 for a couple. Typically, a bag of food will hold an average of £20-£40 worth of produce.
The Honeycomb cafe is open from 12 midday offering complimentary refreshments and a place to pick up a ticket to visit the larder.

The Darby Green Foodbank at St Barnabas Church is one of four Foodbank Centres for Hart Foodbank, part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by The Trussell Trust.
Foodbanks work by enabling people in crisis to ask for a Foodbank Voucher from local agencies, such as:
- Citizens Advice
- Housing Support Officers
- Schools
- Churches
- Health Visitors
- Social Services
- and some local charities
They assess your needs and give you a voucher to exchange for food. You present the voucher at the Foodbank where food is supplied for each family member, sufficient for 3 days.
